History of Army Post Accounting: Army Post Accounting was open for business in 1986 and Ed Clemons joined the firm as its owner by 1989. In those early years they only had a few business clients and yearly tax returns which made it a struggle to keep the doors open. In 2008 Ed departed to the warmer climate of South Carolina and no longer works for the firm. Donna Harvey (Ed’s Aunt) worked with both Ed and his mother in California and had worked for Norwest/Wells Fargo bank before joining Army Post Accounting in 1999. Chris Mendelsohn purchased the business accounts from Ed in 2004 and the tax return accounts in 2005 keeping the name of Army Post Accounting. Chris has been doing accounting work since 1994 after receiving his Masters in Business Administration from Drake University in 1993. Chris also became an Enrolled Agent in March of 2006 and is an alumnus of UNI. An enrolled agent is a person who has past the requirements that allow them to practice before the IRS. This is a national certification unlike C.P.A.'s who are regulated by the state they are located in. Chris has also bought AHL's Accounting in late 2007 and in 2010 made a deal with Danny Sease and he will be working with Chris for at least the 2010 tax season. Donna Harvey (Ed's Aunt) worked with both Ed and his mother in California and had worked for Norwest/Wells Fargo bank before joining Army Post Accounting in 1999. Also working her third year is Carolyn Brown, who has worked part-time in the past, and has a background in bookkeeping. Danny Sease who found a second career in taxes after retiring with the post office will be a welcomed addition to the Army Post family.
